For me Soca river valley felt like some place I would want to live, having grown up in Texas rivers, lakes and streams. The idea of moving water draws me in. It was one of the main reasons I went to school at South west Texas, it has a river running through campus. When we were not working or class we were in the water. And yes the job I had was working at restaurant on the Guadalupe River.
One of the best things about Slovenia is the way they talk and protect their water ways this is the text from one of the many road side signs
“In the middle of intact nature, by water stream, is the hidden nook, abundant with wonderful energies. The areas, exceptionally rich with energies, accumulate in cascades and pools. These energical springs influence very favorably on man’s feelings (they can also appease different pain and illness conditions). The healing effect of water is based on fact that our emotional system, which is in resonance with water, is able to call the information, advantageous and necessary for health and good feelings, from water drops every moment.”
They even have provisions in their constitution and referrer to the water as “Water is the lifeblood of the environment, essential to survival of all living plants, animal and human and we must do everything possible to maintain its quality for today and the future.”
It’s truly a place and people defined by water, they have more than 60 rivers and streams, multiple hundreds of lakes, and 7,500 freshwater springs – each of which is packed with minerals and nutrients and protected for all.
